AlphaPi Partners with Girringun Aboriginal Corporation to Deliver Landmark Girringun Database Project
26 March 2026 — North Sydney, NSW / Cardwell, QLD
AlphaPi has announced a strategic partnership with Girringun Aboriginal Corporation to design and deliver the Girringun Intelligent Application Project, a first-of-its-kind digital platform to strengthen cultural governance, streamline operations, and support the long-term aspirations of Girringun’s nine Traditional Owner groups.

The collaboration was initiated through Lisa Sarago, CEO of the Land on Heart Foundation, who introduced AlphaPi to Girringun and coordinated early engagement between the two organisations. Her leadership ensured the partnership was grounded in trust, clarity, and a shared commitment to long-term community benefit.
The partnership has already included on-Country workshops in Cardwell, where AlphaPi worked closely with Girringun’s leadership, rangers, and operational teams.
The first workshop (October 13-14, 2025) focused on deep discovery, mapping current processes, cultural governance needs, and long-term priorities across the organisation.

The second workshop (November 17-18, 2025) provided follow‑up clarification and initial platform design confirmation, ensuring the system reflects Girringun’s workflows, cultural protocols, and multi‑group governance structure.

These sessions form the foundation of a genuine co-design process, ensuring the platform is practical, culturally aligned, and built for long-term community benefit.
Girringun Aboriginal Corporation CEO Whitney Rassip welcomed the partnership, noting that the new platform will “support our people, our Country, and our future by giving us the tools to manage information in a way that reflects who we are and how we work together.”
The collaboration reflects AlphaPi’s commitment to building technology that strengthens community capability and respects Indigenous governance structures. Girringun is a leader in multi-group governance, cultural heritage management, and Country protection. We’re honoured to work alongside them to co-design a system that is practical, culturally safe, and built for long-term impact.
The Girringun Intelligent Application Project will be delivered in stages, beginning with a detailed discovery and testing phase to ensure the platform aligns with community priorities, operational needs, and the organisation’s long-term vision. The system will integrate modern data architecture with culturally informed design principles, ensuring information is protected, accessible, and future-ready.
The partnership represents Girringun’s first major digital transformation initiative with AlphaPi and is expected to set a new benchmark for Indigenous-led data governance across Queensland and Australia.
